Hi Karen,
Chelsea placed in everything she entered in her first gymkhana. Wow one proud mum (and dad)
Except the 60 cm show jumping and Jess refused the very last jump. BUT why, because before they even when in the ring, Chelz said “she won’t like the last one” and had it in her head – so she communicated this to Jess (as you’ve told her, “Whatever is in Chelsea’s head is in Jess’s head”) and Jess refused.
She laughed when we told her it was her fault she didn’t jump but she was so happy when she came out of the ring and so proud of Jess.
They wouldn’t have done so well without all your expertise.
We owe you such a big THANKYOU for all the help, advice, tears, encouragement but mainly LAUGHTER for the last 9 months since we met you.
The way you look after Jess for us and the way you can communicate with my child, it amazes me (and makes me so very happy). You don’t just teach, you encourage, you explain and you relate things so that both the child and horse “just get it”.
At times you’ve had a hormonal “16 Year Old” teenager and hormonal “ooooh there is a stallion over there” mare in your training arena,” at the same time” and you just calmly get them both on with it.
You’ve also had an amazing influence on my “nervousness” at being on horse and I feel so much calmer and in control because of you. If I learn 1/8 of the horsemanship you know, I would be very lucky.
Karen we are so very lucky to have met you and in my opinion you are a truly gifted “horse lady”
