My horses and I have been very privileged to have Karen White in our lives over many years guiding us through our training together. She has taught me the true meaning of finding that special bond with my horse.
After losing my horse in tragic circumstances, I was not in a hurry to get another one. I started to attend Karen’s clinics as a fence sitter as I was still very saddened by the loss of my horse. I loved Karen’s gentle approach to training her horses and how responsive her horses were to her!!
I was not actively looking for another horse until Karen told me of a young horse which was for sale to the right home. Karen had imprinted this foal when he was born and had been involved with all his ground work lessons since birth. He was at this time 20 months old.
Karen suggested I look at him as she felt that he would be the perfect horse for me – we would be a great match.
As soon as I seen him I knew Karen was right. I knew with the training Karen had been giving him from a youngster that he would be a lovely horse. Phantom and I became a team with Karen’s continued guidance and support. Owing to personal issues I could not continue riding so at the age of 4 years Phantom was to spend a life of leisure in my paddock for the next 6 years.
Phantom is now 11 years old and has come out of retirement as Karen commenced working with him again approximately 4 months ago. It took only one session with Karen for me to see that Phantom had not forgotten anything Karen had taught him as a youngster. Karen is now working Phantom every week and he is going fantastic. He enjoys being worked and Karen just has that special way with him as she does with all her horses. With Karen’s help and dedication to us I don’t think it will be long before Phantom and I are riding again.
Thank you Karen
Yvonne and Phantom
